Before your first organizing session: what to expect

What happens at a free consultation, how a home organizing session works, and how to prepare, so your first session with a professional organizer feels easy.

It starts with a free consultation

We talk about the spaces that feel stuck, how your household uses them, and what you would like them to feel like. You get a clear plan and an upfront estimate, with no obligation. There is no need to tidy before we come; seeing the space as it really is helps us plan.

On the day: sort, edit, set up

Every session follows the same calm rhythm. First we sort everything into categories, so you can see what you have. Then you edit each category, keeping what you use and love, with your final say on every item. Last, we create systems around your routines, so everything has a place and is easy to find.

How to prepare

That is all. You do not need to buy anything in advance.

  • Think about what bothers you most in the space and what you wish it did better
  • Set aside any baskets, bins or jars you are not using; they may become part of the system
  • Plan to be there for the sorting, because the decisions are yours
  • If family members share the space, ask them what they need from it too

After the session

Anything you choose to donate can go with us to Goodwill, so it never becomes another errand. Before we finish, we walk everyone who uses the space through the new system, so it is easy to keep up.
